MAIDMENT UPDATE (and other matters) FROM THE AUCKLAND THEATRE COMPANY We have been advised by the University of Auckland that they are driving their contractors to have the Maidment Theatre repaired by the end of June. If this time frame is achieved, which we have every reason to believe it will be, the season of The Heretic and The Lion Foundation season of Lord of the Flies will go ahead as scheduled. [

The Adam New Zealand Play Award recognises and celebrates the best in new writing for the theatre. The annual award, now in its sixth year, is the only one of its kind for new writing. Playmarket’s only entrance requirements are that the playwright be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and that the play has not had a professional production. [

The 2013 NZ Fringe Festival was an outstanding success, with record numbers turning up to support acts both local and international. This year BATS hosted 83 performances of 16 different shows and sold a total of 4,795 tickets. [
