A VERY MERRY SCRIPTLESS at The Forge at The Court Theatre
reviewed by Lindsay Clark 14 Dec 2007
Ho Ho Ho Hum
Yo ho ho indeed. As predictable as the pleasantly over-indulged feeling that goes with the season, four of the talented pool making up the Court Jesters, spurred on by Scott Koorey as Master of Ceremonies, caper through some tried and tested Theatresports challenges, with varying success. Not every cracker has that snap we hope for. [more]

A VERY MERRY SCRIPTLESS 2010 at The Forge at The Court Theatre
reviewed by Lindsay Clark 3 Dec 2010
Infectious high risk frivolity
There can be no better season for improvised theatre than the weeks before Christmas, when spontaneous good cheer needs no other cue than the set up that we are all together in a suitably cosy place, complete with a bit of lighting, bling and live music, to underscore invention as it capers from one mad challenge to the next. A VERY MERRY SCRIPTLESS 2011 at Heaton Intermediate Theatre (133 Heaton St, Merivale)
reviewed by Lindsay Clark 18 Dec 2011
Trust and solidarity gifts a right cracker
There have been many popular formats for improvised shows over the years but the current showcase for the talents of this merry band would have to be one of the most successful on record. [more]

A VERY SPLENDID DINNER PARTY at Centrepoint - Dark Room
reviewed by Richard Mays 22 Jul 2008
Inventive immersion experience offers novel and surreal entertainment
The ‘elite’ gather in the refurbished foyer of The Dark Room. They comprise a ‘super 14’ (give or take) guest list for what promises to be an exclusive occasion. Hosts Alice and Nathan Muggeridge themselves arrive fashionably late, seeing as how both had just come off stage from performances as someone else in The Gods of Warm Beer next door at Centrepoint. A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE at TAPAC Theatre, Western Springs
reviewed by Caoilinn Hughes 22 Oct 2010
Inspiring view from the auditorium
Peach Theatre Company presents Author Miller’s iconic play A View From The Bridge with a star-studded New Zealand cast at Auckland’s TAPAC Theatre. Despite the play having become a hackneyed high school text book in many countries around the world, Peach Theatre Company truly makes it their own in this inspired and purposeful production. [more]

Greek tragedy alive in Little Italy
Arthur Miller plays are like good casseroles; they're conventional and a bit old-fashioned, but satisfying and full of meat to chew on. [more]

A VOTE FOR CYNTHIA at Circa One
reviewed by John Smythe 7 Jul 2008
Facing the future with Fortitude
If you dream of a land where opera houses flourish in hitherto depressed communities from Cape Reinga to Bluff, then look no further than Cynthia Fortitude for Prime Minister. An enthralled audience last night witnessed the launch of The Fortitude Party– to be repeated on the next two Sundays at Circa Theatre – and left convinced their election dilemmas had been resolved. A VOTE FOR CYNTHIA at Circa One
reviewed by Laurie Atkinson 12 Jul 2008
A dotty comedy to clear the blues
The bad news is that Cynthia Fortitude’s magnum opus is on hold. Balls!, the first rugby opera, is unlikely to see the light of day unless she wins the forthcoming general election and becomes P.M. [more]

AANANDA – THE DANCE OF JOY at Globe Theatre
reviewed by Sharon Matthews 20 Mar 2012
Singular artistry
Aananda - The Dance of Joy is a moment out of time, classical Indian dance at its very best, lyrical, evocative and visually and musically expressive. Unni takes and transforms the rich traditions of Bharatanatyam and Kuchupudi classical dance forms with her own distinctive choreography, revealing the fresh contemporariness of an ancient art form. AARERO STONE at Soundings - Te Papa
reviewed by John Smythe (John Smythe: Theatre Reviews) 5 Mar 2006
Where is the key?
The promotional information has intrigued me, although every time I’ve seen something written or heard someone talk about Aarero Stone, it has seemed like a different beast. I therefore decide to approach it with no preconceptions or expectations. [more]
