NINETY at Circa Two
reviewed by Lynn Freeman (Capital Times) 27 Jan 2010
90 minutes with the ex
The cast of two has a monumental task. They hold the stage for 90 minutes, and must carry us with them back in time in between sparring in the present. [more]

NIU SILA at Repertory Theatre
reviewed by Lindsay Clark 28 Jul 2007
All pervasive laughter
It is impossible not to warm to this production from the moment the polished pair of Damon Andrews and Dave Fane take the stage. The relationship between the diminutive palagi and the statuesque Samoan is entirely captivating. Fleshing out a script saturated with humour and insight, they are irresistible. [more]

NIU SILA at Glen Eden Playhouse

Irrepressible humour
Niu Sila is a simple, human tale of two boys from divergent cultures growing up best friends, with all the triumphs and troubles that go along with it. This Peach Theatre Company production marks the first season not performed by the original cast. [more]

Hilarious culture collision
Dave Armstrong and Oscar Kightley's wickedly funny take on Samoan-Palagi relations is well suited to the ethnic pot-pourri of West Auckland. [more]

NO FREEDOM WITHOUT YOU at Newtown Salvation Army Hall
reviewed by John Smythe 22 Feb 2008
What do market forces have to answer for?
Sex trafficking is a multi-million dollar industry and beats drug trafficking because drugs can be sold through the system only once while women and children are sold over and over again. Let’s call it what it is: the rape for profit industry. [more]

NO HOLDS BARD at Downstage Theatre
reviewed by Hannah Smith 18 May 2013
Virtuoso performance effective but not affecting
Hamlet is a Danish ponce, Othello jiggles ladies on his knee, Macbeth would like to play Horatio, and King Lear wants a sandwich. No Holds Bard, previously Frequently Asked Questions and even briefly Bard Day’s Night, is as multifaceted in form as it has been in name. [more]

NO IDEA at Fringe Bar, Cnr Cuba & Vivian
reviewed by Michael Wray 1 Mar 2010
More sympathy than laughter
Originally cancelled when their Oriental Bay Band Rotunda venue was closed by the council for urgent flood-related repairs, No Idea has managed to pick up an early evening slot at The Fringe Bar. Unfortunately, the publicity for the show’s resurrection does not seem to have been widely circulated. [more]

NO MOA at Downstage Theatre

Outrage at Downstage
What I cannot forgive is that Tama the Moa is played with a Bronx American accent. Well played, sure, in every other respect - but why on Earth American? [more]

NO MOA at Downstage Theatre

Family frolics with a most entertaining moa
With only three actors playing all the parts writer Cooper and director Rachael Moore have come up with many clever and inventive ways to get their story across, including recruiting members of the audience to become mountains, rivers, trees and lots of different animals. [more]

NO SEX PLEASE WE’RE BRITISH at Harlequin Theatre, Howick
reviewed by Nik Smythe 29 Nov 2007
High impact, low-brow farce lacks polish
The rude-imentary plot concerns Frances who's sent off for some mail-order Scandiavian glassware, only to discover that she's unwittingly subscribed to a supplier of illicit pornography. This is on the heels of her new mother-in-law arriving to impose herself on their post-honeymoon lives for an indefinite period. [more]
