THE END OF THE LINE at Fringe Bar, Cnr Cuba & Vivian
reviewed by Maryanne Cathro 7 Oct 2010
Disjointed, illogical
It was clear that Wilbur and Scott are accustomed to working together and so I Googled them to see what I could find. Not surprisingly I found an entry in this year’s 48 hour film festival, and it was really good, funny and with great production values for a 48 hour film. [more]

THE ENGINE ROOM at BATS
reviewed by Laurie Atkinson (The Dominion Post) 29 Sep 2011
Performance will win many votes
Rugby, as the saying goes, is a game of two halves. Though there is no interval in The Engine Room, just about everything else in this entertaining and very funny comedy that mixes fact with fiction is in two halves. [more]

THE ENGINE ROOM at BATS
reviewed by Robbie Ellis 28 Sep 2011
Sport, politics and media make for a vital piece of theatre
The third of BATS Theatre’s rugby-related plays taking place during the Global Oval Ball Sports Tournament, this is another which is only tangentially to do with the sport itself. The Engine Room fuses the physicality, vocabulary, sound worlds and imagery of rugby, protest, politics and the media in a vibrant and provocative way ... [more]

THE ENIGMA BOX at THE EDGE Box Café
reviewed by Reynald Castaneda 21 Feb 2013
Intimate five course menu
The Enigma Box is a fun house curiosity, a time machine and a confessional, all conveniently condensed in a tiny box that can only fit two audience members and an actor in the middle Aotea Square. Talk about unusual. [more]

THE ERRONEOUS FOREST at Fringe Bar, Cnr Cuba & Vivian
reviewed by Helen Sims 24 Feb 2011
Quite bizarre and macabre improv
Forest ranger Craig (Simon Smith dressed as a boy scout) invites us into a deep, dark corner of the forest, the part called The Erroneous Forest. Craig extols us to be very quiet, in the hopes that we can coax out the creatures who live there, Mep and Orp (Christine Brooks and Derek Flores). [more]

THE ETHNIC ULTIMATUM at Comedy Underground, 305 Queen St
reviewed by Jessie Kollen 1 May 2008
Guaranteed laughter
The Ethnic Ultimatum are three short, young comedians from different ethnic backgrounds. This gives them the excuse to make as many jokes about themselves as they want, and that's what they do, with huge success. [more]

THE FACTORY – A PACIFIC MUSICAL at Mangere Arts Centre
reviewed by Nik Smythe 15 Aug 2011
The Great Niu Sila Musical ?
Some time ago an industry friend pointed out to me that the definitive Great Kiwi Musical was yet to be written (despite numerous attempts) and that whoever manages it will have a goldmine on their hands. Since then I’ve kept my eye out for it. Of course it largely depends on what the agreed criteria to earn such a title might be ... [more]

THE FACTORY – A PACIFIC MUSICAL at Mangere Arts Centre

Emotional Journey hits high notes
It was a big night in South Auckland – while David Tua was seeking redemption in his battle with Monte Barrett, the Kila Kokonut Krew delivered a knockout blow with the opening of a musical celebrating the joys and disappointments of the Pacific Island immigrant experience. [more]

Tale of race, class a triumph
Last night was a triumph for the Kila Kokonut Krew, their creative supporters and their Factory, overhauled since its first Mangere outing in 2011. [more]
