100 POEMS IN A 100 DAYS - WILL HE HAVE A SH#T SHOW (IN HELL)?
Andie Spargo is in the process of writing 100 poems, including odes, ballads, limericks, rhymes, even a rap or two for his upcoming show THERE'S NO SUCH WORD AS C#NT, which plays February 21st, 22nd & 23rd as part of the Auckland Fringe.
100 different works in 100 days. Why?
“I bet you can't write 100 poems in 100 days,” said Andie's sadistic girlfriend one drunken Sunday.
For the last three and a bit months, every day a different topic set by a random person plus a poetic form chosen at random… and he's had 24 hours to write each one. The same the next day and the next… over and over and over, like a monkey with a miniature penis.
These shows are the last three nights of this 100 day challenge. Not only will Andie share the highlights and lowlights of this writing journey, he will ask you to help him write the last three pieces of rhyme to complete this Herculean odyssey.
Will he make it? Will any of these rhymes be any good? Will he be sober?
20 year comedy veteran, NZ Comedy Festival Fred Award finalist and NZ Theatresports champion; Andie Spargo is an improvisor, writer, actor, entertainer - a foul-mouthed, beer drinking, rhyme spitting, pun slinging gentleman from Glendene.
What has he learnt so far? “Don't ever get into a discussion about commitments with your girlfriend when you're not sober.”
Auckland Fringe runs from 15 February to 10 March 2013. For more Auckland Fringe information go to www.aucklandfringe.co.nz
