Comment posted to The Glass Menagerie – An exquisitely executed minimalist production to celebrate 50 years – Why not do the play as it was intended by the writer? Laura should have a limp. Why didn’t she?
Silly to use little coloured bottles (apparently referencing something Tom said) instead of glass animals. For goodness sake, the play is called “The Glass Menagerie”. It’s distracting, annoying and unnecessary, having to have people pretend the bottles are animals.
Amanda talks about jonquils, but is putting daffodils in vases.
The set was very stark and minimalist.
The acting was fantastic, so bravo for that. It’s a great play.
