Dr Felicity Molloy (PhD I MEd I REPs I MNZ RMT I YogaNZ Senior L4 I VCA Dance) is a long-term dancer, registered exercise professional, and body therapist. She is well-known for her integrated teaching profile across dance, yoga, bodywork, and somatics (embodied feeling). Felicity has written for Theatreview for well over a decade, responding to dance as performance art – involving, emerging and shaping in Aotearoa. A dancer with Impulse Dance Theatre, and Limbs Dance Company before becoming an independent dance professional, and tertiary educator at Unitec, AUT, and University of Auckland, she completed a PhD about how dancers come to academia in 2017. Felicity was TAPAC’s Creative Director in 2011, Artistic Director for Youth Company Pointy Dog, and she continues a  experience in community programme development, bringing together dance and well-being approaches.Since 2009, Felicity has been exploring the benefits of dance for older adults, becoming Research Officer for the AUT/SPARC project called Can Dancing Improve Physical Activity Levels, Functional Ability and Reduce Falls in Older Adults? In collaboration with DANZ, Felicity designed a flexible older adults dance class and teaching method. Felicity’s co-authored international article, and conferences about Dance Mobility™ include a presentation at the 2019 World Congress of Physical Therapy (WCPT) in Geneva.
