Jackson Rosie is an actor, writer, and director in Dunedin, studying a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Otago, and is current deputy chair at Dunedin’s Globe theatre. He is passionate about the art he makes. Awarded Best Emerging Artist at the 2025 Dunedin Theatre Awards, nominated Best Supporting Actor at the Otago Southland Theatre Awards (2024).
Some of Jackson’s stage credits include – Crunchy Silk by Jess Sayer (Globe Dunedin 2025, Director), The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie (South Otago Theatrical Society 2024), Artist Descending a Staircase (Globe Dunedin 2024), The Comedy of Errors (Kim Morgan and Dunedin Summer Shakespeare 2025), Drowning Ophelia (Allen Hall 2024), Yellow Hut (Globe Dunedin 2024), Head South (Feature film released 2024).
Jackson won the Shot Glass Shorts short play competition in 2023 for his short play Cactus and then again in 2024 with his short play Lola, which he developed as a three-part piece for the 2025 Dunedin Fringe, as A Fly On The Wall.
Jackson also creates films under his production company Ellipsis Productions (formerly JCR productions). He previously wrote, directed and starred in a short film, and has another one upcoming. He is also hoping to branch out into more theatre work under the new rebrand to Ellipsis and produce a developed season of his writing work.
Jackson is an actor represented by Monarch People and Talent.
