Koru McDonald is a Wellington-based theatre reviewer and performer from Māori and Pasifika heritage. With a background spanning Improv, Shakespeare, Physical Theatre, Musical Theatre, and more, Koru brings a dynamic and experienced perspective to his writing. His reviews draw on both his performance experience and his understanding of storytelling, language, and culture. Koru has a comprehensive knowledge of Cook Islands Māori and a strong understanding of Te Reo Māori, as well as lots of worldwide knowledge from many different countries which inform his commitment to amplifying diverse voices and celebrating Aotearoa’s vibrant performing arts scene.
