Carmel is well known throughout New Zealand not only for her many acclaimed performances of a wide variety of music both in Opera and Concert, but also for her warmth and enthusiasm as a colleague and teacher.

Her repertoire in Opera has included Rosina, Cherubino, Dorabella, Suzuki and Baba to list only a few. She loves to sing Bach and Handel and has performed all the great Masses including Bach B Minor, St Mathew Passion, St John Passion, Verdi Requiem and Handel Messiah.

She is also an experienced director. Both of the National tours she directed for Opera New Zealand, Cosi Fan Tutti and The Barber of Serville were sold out nationwide.

Carmel has a large skill set built over more than 25 years in the performance industry and has also appeared in small films, sung on sound tracks including Desperate Remedies, lead workshops on acting and performance etiquette as well as gaining her acting chops alongside such luminaries as Elizabeth Hawthorn in Callas.
