Carys Chapman-Vari is a Rotorua born and raised emerging performer currently living in Wellington and studying a three-year Bachelor of Arts course majoring in Theatre and Film with a minor in Media Studies. She has been involved with Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Regional Festivals since a young age and attended the National Festival in 2022 with a 5-minute student-directed piece winning the Most Filmic Award and Individual recipient of the Best Communication with the Audience Award.

Carys was selected from the previous year’s NSSP cohort to travel and perform with New Zealand’s Young Shakespeare Company and represent Aotearoa in London on Shakespeare’s Globe Stage (2023). She has completed and received her certificate for her Speech New Zealand Speech and Drama ASB Performance Diploma which was achieved with Distinction in 2022.
