 Daniel has been involved with theatre for 25 years, initially as an actor and improviser and more recently as a teacher, director, writer and reviewer. His great loves are improvisation, comedy, devised physical and ensemble work, but he is interested in pretty much anything that explores a performer’s relationship with an audience.

Daniel was a member of the Court Jesters improvisation troupe between 2003 and 2009 and has worked with The Court Theatre, NZ Playhouse, and Fortune Theatre. He is a founding member of The Loopen Experiment and the celebrated Nelson company Body in Space, which offered shows and development opportunities to actors and the public alike, between 2010 and 2015. He and his wife Lisa were awarded the ‘Nelson Mail: Nelsonians of the Year for Art’ in their final year of operation.

Dan is currently teaching Drama at Garin College and is the Chairperson of the Nelson Fringe Arts Community Trust, founded to operate the Nelson Fringe, now in its third year.
