Karen Beaumont

Karen has been a part of the teaching profession for over thirty years. She has taught New Entrants through to Year 13 and is currently a high school English teacher. She has been a Head of English, a Head of Music and for many years was a member of the Hawke’s Bay Regional Orchestra as a Double Bass player.

In recent years Karen has helped organize English and Music Conferences for teachers, and whilst working as a Primary teacher participated in, and conducted several music festivals. She assists with House Music competitions and school shows – this year (2016) she picked up the bass again and has thoroughly enjoyed getting back into performing.

In her own time Karen is a crafter at heart, quilting, beaded jewellery and book / card making being the mainstay of her interest. She is also a keen theatre goer and makes the most of the festivals that come to the Hawke’s Bay.
