Maddie Paget is a freelance dance artist lecturing, and studying, at the University of Auckland Dance Studies faculty. Notably, she earned her Bachelor of Dance Studies in 2023 and is due to graduate her Honours (First Class) in Dance Studies in 2024. Maddie is currently on the way to pursuing a PhD in Dance Studies, researching ways of enhancing queer visibility in both New Zealand and the global dance community. Maddie has actively promoted the representation of masculine dancing artists, drawing from her expertise in Hip Hop, Contemporary, and various queer dance forms. Throughout her academic journey, Maddie has engaged in diverse dance projects, focusing on advocating for and showcasing the contributions of masc dancing artists. Notably, she was awarded a 2022/2023 Summer Research Scholarship by the University of Auckland.
