Nga-Atawhainga is a life long devotee to the text based arts of reading and writing utlising her wordsmith skillset as a Ngāpuhi historian and archivist, a home based kaiako, and more recently as a Tiriti o Waitangi teacher to year 13 wharekura students.  Nga-Atawhainga made her first international debut as a guest poet for Ireland based ‘International Stage & Play’ [2021] followed by ‘The Guilty Feminist'[2022].

Along with her three wharekura aged children she has enjoyed indulging her family in the experience of live theatre as a vehicle for embodying self growth, reflection, and expression. Nga-Atawhainga lives nestled amongst te waonui o Tane on the West Coast, Auckland where she is most proud to share that her domestic bubble consists of a 2min commute from her home to her local awa, moana, maunga, mau rākau training and kura kaupapa. All the places that nourish and sustain her and her very blessed and blissed out pro-actively Māori family.
