This annual event brings together a huge variety of live performance, visual arts, music, theatre, dance, and installation works located in the heart of Wellington’s waterfront, completely free to the public.

An “arcade” architecture made from 20 shipping containers provides a stunning site for this unique project, housing a pop-up bar, food stalls, live music and events, culinary performance, cutting-edge new video art, and new performance installations by New Zealand and international artists.

The Performance Arcade offers engaging experiences that shift and evolve throughout the day to enchanting twilight and evening events. A new programme of works, “The City Series”, distributes works throughout the city and waterfront environment, providing surprising encounters with new artforms in unexpected places.

City series artists include: Bruce Mowson and Elliott Howard (Australia), LudiCity, Kalisolaite Uhila (Tonga), Meggan Rollandi, Josephine Were (Australia), Angela Kilford, and Andres 

Montes (Mexico).

AV Series artists include: Ruby Joy, Jordana Bragg, Jon Sasaki (Canada), Denise Batchelor and Hye Rim Lee.
