Just what we need in these wintry days – a little bit of Paradise is coming to Wellington!

Rosa Casado, Spanish theatre artist and member of the Magdalena network, will perform her solo show "Paradise 2: the incessant sound of a falling tree" at the Wellington Performing Arts Centre at 8pm on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25th; $15 waged / $10 unwaged.

The performance features a chocolate island and tales of journeys between Mali, Spain and Senegal.
After the show, grab a cup of People’s Coffee and join Rosa for a discussion about her work.

Rosa arrives in NZ after spending three weeks working in Melbourne with performer Margaret Cameron, who is also part of the Magdalena network, and will leave NZ to attend the Magdalena Singapore festival in July. She has worked with director Jill Greenhalgh (founder of the Magdalena Project), started an artists’ residential space near Madrid and is involved in an art in schools project.

There are still places available for Rosa’s 2-day workshop, "To Create in a Time and a Place". This workshop is for anyone who is interested in addressing contemporary issues through thought-provoking performance, and investigating art’s capacity for transformation. The workshop will be held twice, first at the weekend (Sat 24-Sun 25) and again during the week (Tues 27-Wed 28). Workshop fees are $150 waged, $75 unwaged (if you are very keen but money is a barrier then please contact us).
