THUMBS UP FOR FRED CONTENDERS   

The 2007 International Comedy Festival is delighted to announce Ewen Gilmour, Te Radar and Dai Henwood as this year’s nominees for THE FRED AWARD.

Named in honour of ex-pat comedian John Clarke THE FRED AWARD heralds those that have a recognized career in NZ Comedy and are ready to unleash their talent on the  international scene. Recognising this potential THE FRED AWARD winner takes home a $3000 international travel voucher to assist in delivering great kiwi comedy to the world stage.

THE FRED AWARD was established in 2006 in acknowledgment of the professional development of the NZ comedy industry limiting nominees to those with a new festival show and 8 years experience in the comedy industry.

Hosted by Paul Ego, this year’s three nominees will perform a set at the final festival event LAST LAUGH before winners are announced at the completion of the showcase. The 2007 Billy T Award nominees will also take to the stage for this Festival finale.

Limited public tickets are still available for this exclusive festival event which farewells three weeks of exceptional comedy in the 2007 NZ International Comedy Festival.
