Directed by Duncan Smith

Downstage Theatre is proud to present Carl Nixon’s The Raft as part of its 2009 Season One programme.

We are inviting actors aged around 25 – 35 to register their interest in auditioning for the characters "Tonia Alymer" and "Mark Alymer".

The Raft is a bold drama set over a rainy weekend in a West Coast bach.  Carl Nixon’s story of a devastating family tragedy and it’s appalling consequences on relationships.  It is strong, gripping and brings you – at times – close to tears.

"A trump card, giving us an evocative and haunting, new New Zealand work that is rendered as marvellous theatre"  Alan Scott, The Press
