RED LEAP THEATRE – OPEN AUDITION  
NBR NZ Opera Studios, 107 Nielson St, Onehunga  
Saturday 21st November – 1pm to 3pm  

Auckland’s Red Leap Theatre is a movement and image based devising theatre company under the Direction of Kate Parker and Julie Nolan. Past repertoire includes Moahunting 2001, The Butcher’s Daughter 2003, Beyond The Blue 2008 and The Arrival 2009 (touring Sydney, Hong Kong and Wellington in 2010).

The Company are currently seeking collaborators for the development process of a new devised work inspired by 1) Illusionists at the turn of the 20th Century, 2) Synchronicity and 3) Collision, the energy, force and magnetism of matter.

Actors will work alongside a Creative Team consisting of
Julie Nolan – Creator/Director;
Kate Parker – Creator/Imagery/Cast;
Lauren Hughes – Producer;
John Verryt – Set;
Jeremy Fern – Lighting, and
Elizabeth Whiting – Costume.

They will be required for four weeks of paid workshop time held 7 – 12 December 2009 and then again in April 2010, pending funding outcomes advised on November 30 2009*. Casting of the premiere performance season will take place at a later date pending the evolving needs of the production. If cast in the production performers will be required throughout September and October 2010.

The audition will be a group devising workshop. Performers are asked to wear comfortable working blacks, bring an open mind, a bold imagination and be prepared to work very physically . *NB If the Company is unsuccessful with its funding application the workshops may be postponed but those cast will still be given first option to participate on the rescheduled dates.
