CHRISTCHURCH ACTRESS ELIZABETH MOODY DIES

Christchurch actress and director Elizabeth Moody has died of pneumonia, aged 70.

Well-known for her work in theatre, Moody directed the Repertory Theatre’s production of the Roger Hall comedy Social Climbers last year.

Her husband, Terence Moody, said that family would miss Moody’s sense of humour and her forthrightness.

Moody was hospitalised after being diagnosed with an abscess on the brain three weeks ago.

A subsequent chest infection developed into pneumonia and Moody died "peacefully” in hospital last night, surrounded by close family members.
