A note: for those who do not know, Boujke Van Zon is one of our much valued dance elders. She taught European modern dance techniques and ideals, including choreographic methods, to students in the  Auckland region from the 1950s into the 1980s, assisted by her daughters Carla and Yvonne. Her dance legacy is carried in the minds, bodies and souls of the many dancers she taught, and the many audience members who learned to love dance from watching her students as they developed into dance artists. She sowed the seeds for the development of Movement Theatre and Limbs Dance Company during the 1970s, and the many contributions subsequently made by her daughters.
