THEATRE COORDINATOR
MANGERE ARTS CENTRE – Ngâ Tohu o Uenuku

20 hours per week
Fixed-term to 31 October 2010

Are you passionate about professional and community performing arts and reaching new audiences? We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised team player. 

Part of the Manukau City Council Arts unit, this position is a key coordinator role at the new Mangere Arts Centre – Ngâ Tohu o Uenuku, opening in September 2010.

The position holder will coordinate communications and relationships between the Performing Arts team and artists, audiences, service contractors, Mangere’s various communities and other Council staff.

This role requires a sound knowledge of Mangere and its communities and the position holder will work closely with Centre staff to deliver high quality service to all theatre users. Under the guidance of the Performing Arts Manager, you will be responsible for administrativeand organisational tasks.

This role requires a positive outlook, excellent people skills, a ‘can-do’ attitude and passion for the various disciplines of the performing arts, including theatre, dance and music.

You will be available to work flexible hours as designated, including evenings and weekends.

The aim of the performing arts programme is to make an impact on Mangere and the wider arts community and bring a sense of “wow factor” to the new arts centre.
