YOUNG AND HUNGRY WELCOMES NEW MANAGER

The Young and Hungry Arts Trust Welcomes Our New Programme and Partnerships Manager – Vanessa Thompson

As we race towards another fabulous season of fresh and funky new kiwi theatre we’ve had a change of the guard at Young and Hungry!

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Vanessa Thompson as the new PPM for the Young and Hungry Arts Trust.

Vanessa comes to us from Christchurch where she has previously worked as the project coordinator for the Dance and Physical Theatre Trust, coordinators of the Body Festival (Christchurch’s annual dance festival), the South Island Dance Network, and the Dancing Like The Stars primary school dance programme.

“It is with great excitement that I accept the appointment of programme and partnerships manager for Young and Hungry in 2011! I am always inspired by the passion, enthusiasm and sheer dedication that youth bring to theatre, and I feel privileged to be able to support them through our range of Young and Hungry programmes this year.

“It’s also wonderful to be back in Wellington after a five year hiatus, and I look forward to strolling the streets of Wellington and immersing myself in the “vibe” that Wellington is so famous for – see you on the street!”

We sincerely wish our hard working 2010 PPM Alec Wheeler well as she takes on her new role as Director for the Otago Arts Festival.

Young and Hungry Festival of New Theatre kicks off at BATS 21 July – 6 August, with three new exciting works: For Jonny by Whiti Hereaka, Hearts Encoded by Aaron Alexander and Disorder by Thomas Sainsbury. For up to date information check out our web page www.youngandhungry.org.nz
