Q, Auckland’s brightest performing arts venue, is about to open its doors and we need a Front of House Manager to invite Aucklanders in.

As the welcoming face for Q’s patrons (and the general public) it’s vital that you have a real gift for customer service, so a positive and friendly approach is essential.

Reporting to the Business Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Q’s Front of House operations, including liaising with Q’s hirers to get shows started on time, making sure Q’s public spaces are looking great and ready for audiences as well as the recruitment, training and management of casual FOH staff.

Because you will be responsible for the security, welfare and safety of all patrons, before, during and after performances, you will work with Q’s Business Manager and Production Coordinator in creating Q’s Health and Safety policies and procedures and ensure those are implemented and maintained.

Ideally you will have previous Front of House experience in an arts venue, but it’s the exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and experience in outstanding customer servicewhich are vital.  You should also have a current First Aid Certificate and a demonstrated knowledge of workplace health & safety regulations.

This is a permanent full time role, but it’s no 9-5. You will need to be flexible (and reliable) because evening and weekend work will be required.
