CHEKHOV IN HELL at Circa

Audition Notice

Written by Dan Rebellato, and directed by Eleanor Bishop, Chekhov in Hell imagines what would happen if Anton Chekhov, playwright, author and pitiless observer of Russian society, awakes from a hundred-year coma to finds himself in twenty-first century London.

The play takes a whirlwind tour of modern day society from reality TV, celebrity chefs, Twitter and sex trafficking, to ask where have we come from, how did we get here and what do we do now?

Rehearsals for Chekhov in Hell will begin on 10 April for a season in Circa Two from 12 May to 9 June 2012.

We are looking to cast two men (20-40s) and two women (20-40s) to form the ensemble.

There will be a series of group auditions on 10 March at Circa. You will be required to present one short monologue from the play, in a British accent.

We are looking for professional actors who can play a variety of different roles, across gender and age. We are looking for actors who are open, playful and rigorous.

If you are interested in auditioning, please send your C.V. and headshot to eleanorbishop@gmail.com by Friday 9 March
