Antony and Cleopatra

Wellington’s Summer Shakespeare 2013 presents the passion and power of Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra – directed by Alison Walls.

This production will embrace the exoticism and glamour of one of history’s most famous – and infamous – women and her Roman lover. Deceit, politics, lust and love interweave in a world evocative of 1950s Hollywood, where the personalities are big, the emotions forceful, and the stakes run high.

13th and 14th October 2012

225 Aro Street, Aro Valley, Wellington

Antony and Cleopatra will play at the Dell in the Wellington Botanic Gardens from Friday

15th February to Saturday 2nd March 2013.

November – February with plenty of time off over Christmas and New Year.

We’re looking for adventurous actors with strong vocal ability and a passion for Shakespeare.

Musical ability is definitely a bonus!

Please prepare a monologue from the play and either a contrasting monologue (from any play, any era, any genre), a song, or other remarkable talent!

We are also looking for designers and technical crew, so get in touch if you’re interested.
