SUMMER SHAKESPEARE WELLINGTON TURNS 30 IN FEBRUARY 2013!

Since the first production of A Midsummer Night’s Dreamin the Victoria University quad in 1983, Summer Shakespeare has become a theatrical institution and has kept close ties to Victoria. Summer Shakespeare boasts alumni of many of New Zealand’s leading actors, directors and arts practitioners and we think it’s time to celebrate!

We’ll be celebrating the 30th anniversary with a series of special events over the weekend of 22-24 February 2013 and if you’ve been a participant in any of the past 29 productions we’d love you to join us in marking the occasion. There’ll be the opportunity to relive old memories, catch up with Summer Shakespeare participants old and young, and of course attend our 30th birthday production of Antony and Cleopatrain the Wellington Botanic Gardens.

To register your interest, please contact us via birthday@summershakespeare.co.nz and we’ll get back to you with full information about the weekend’s programme.

We’d love to hear from anyone who’s been involved in the Summer Shakespeare in any capacity, whether you’ve stayed in touch with us or not! (And please pass this news on to anyone you know who might have been involved – we have something like 1000 past-participants to locate!)
