TAPAC ROLLS OUT THE RED CARPET FOR A UNIQUE, ONE-NIGHT-ONLY FEAST OF AUCKLAND’S BEST MUSICIANS

TAPAC – The Auckland Performing Arts Centre – is hosting a one-night-only musical event on Sunday 18 October from 4.30pm with the unforgettable title of The Red Carpet Revamp.

Hosted by Bruce Hopkins, The Red Carpet Revamp has a line-up of Auckland’s best musicians including head-lining act Don McGlashan alongside Eyreton Hall with Ben King (Goldenhorse), APO Quartet, Cover Lover, Peter Daube with King Skinny, Ora Lefebvre, John Davies & the Bayadere, The Little Cello Box and The Prayas Band.

Hundreds of thousands of feet have walked our halls over the past fifteen years, so now we need new carpet to pave the way for future performers and artists. A fresh carpet has been installed with a red brick road feel to inspire creativity and brilliance, and whole team of fantastic artists are gifting their time and talent to make the Red Carpet Revamp evening a bonanza.

Kiwi music icon Don McGlashan will be the central act, and he states the importance of this event as it paves the way for future artists:

“The Performing Arts have the power to get under our skin, challenge us, and ultimately change us from grey units of consumption and production into thinking, feeling humans.  But in order to do that, they need a place to stand: a place that validates and nurtures artists, and gives them a platform to reach an audience.

“TAPAC is a great example of that kind of place. It was conceived and built by this community; it shows the wonderful things that can be achieved when people work together, and it’s become a beacon for ideas, imagination and quality. I’m thrilled to be able to contribute to this Red Carpet Revamp.”

Along with our unique and unmissable line-up, Auckland’s Mayor Len Brown will also be attending.

Not only will the strictly limited audience be supporting TAPAC and future generations to come, but they will be treated to a unique night of quality entertainment and music, plus a glass of wine and nibbles! Come and celebrate artistic brilliance with us at TAPAC, a venue that nurtures artists of all ages and stages.
