AUDITIONS CHRISTCHURCH PRIDE FESTIVAL CABARET 2019

Blackboard Theatre Collective is seeking dynamic performers for our upcoming revue-style show to be presented during Christchurch’s Pride Festival in March.
Auditions will be held Saturday 1st December.

Applicants should be strong vocalists with a great sense of story telling and comedic timing. The revue style will require performers to be comfortable performing in an intimate space with a cabaret feel.

We are interested in working with artists who identify as queer for this project but strongly encourage allies to apply and audition also.

For the audition you will be required to prepare 2 songs that demonstrate your voice/range – a comedic song of your choosing and a 32 bar cut of a ballad.
Successful auditionees will need to be available for daytime rehearsals during Feb 25th-Mar 1st with evening performances running through to Mar 3rd and will be engaged on a per performance fee with an additional profit share arrangement.

To request an audition time please submit a performance CV to jeremy@blackboardtheatre.co.nz by EOD Thursday 29th Nov. Please advise if you have any circus/burlesque experience/skills or are proficient playing an instrument.

As auditions slots are limited, unfortunately not every applicant will secure an audition slot.
