Q. Theatre, is fragile and vulnerable right now.

As a proudly independent theatre, without direct CNZ funding and without the protection of council ownership, Covid hit them hard.

We are asking you, our beloved Q whānau, to Help Q Get Through.

We are incredibly proud of all that Q has achieved, bringing audiences together with theatre, comedy, dance, music and a killer cocktail or two. Our community’s love of the Q experience has helped us present over 5,500 performances and change the landscape of the arts in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Like many others, COVID-19 has hit us hard. Since closing our doors we’ve lost 85% of our income as well as most of the events we’d lined up this for the year. With pay cuts, staffing reductions and expenses stripped back to bare bones there is still a shortfall we cannot fill.

With your help we aim to raise $150,000, by Friday 29 May.

Soon, we’re going to need places like Q to come together, have a drink with friends and enjoy the magic that is live entertainment. We’ve got a huge battle on our hands in order to be able to fully re-open in 2021, and continue to provide a space for artists and audiences who are hungry for live experiences.

We know many people are experiencing hard times and we appreciate that this is a big ask, but together we can do it.
