Comedian, compere and commentator extraordinaire Julian Clary will soon be springing his latest hit show on unsuspecting New Zealand audiences when he returns for the New Zealand International Comedy Festival. JULIAN CLARY will bring his brand new show LORD OF THE MINCE to New Zealand in April.

I only hope I’m not too late.” He wasn’t – having performed over 50 sold out shows across the UK to rave reviews. Julian Clary feels it is his absolute duty to now satisfy his New Zealand fans.

Since graduating from Goldsmiths College University, London in the 80’s with a degree in English Drama, Julian Clary has gone on to become one of England’s most recognisable entertainers, and during his 25 years in show business has turned his hand to comedy, acting, presenting, writing and even performing as a novice dancer on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, where he reached the final.

Julian has come a long way since his early days as a singing telegram boy and teenage sausage dog. He is best known in New Zealand for his television shows Terry and Julian and the cult hit Sticky Moments on the ABC.
He has toured the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand many times and also appeared in Boy George’s memorable West End musical, Taboo, and as the Emcee in Cabaret at London’s Lyric Theatre. His indelible impact on the entertainment world was recognised in 2001 when he was awarded ‘the big red book’ by Michael Aspel on This Is Your Life.
His autobiography, A Young Man’s Passage, was published in June 2006 and was a Sunday Times bestseller, and his first novel, Murder Most Fab, was published in 2007. His second novel, Devil In Disguise, was published in May 2009.
Needless to say Julian Clary can’t wait to be here.
Dress code is smart but casual, although the usual rules about corduroy trousers still apply.
