LIFE IN THE TOY BOX

Rose Centre Belmont, Auckland

18/02/2015 - 21/02/2015

Auckland Fringe 2015

Production Details

WHO IS PLAYING WITH WHOM IN THIS CIRCUS WE CALL LIFE?

When we close a toy box, how much do our toys stay with us and how much of us stay with them? From dolls too precious to play with, to teddies worn thin with love, action figures repeatedly saving the day, or out-grown objects long forgotten LIFE IN THE TOYBOX explores the possible hidden world of the toys we cherish, enjoy or abandon… Come into the toybox and play with us – from 18-21 February as part of Auckland Fringe.

With its unique blend of quirky humour, diverse talents, and endless energy, Silver Circle Productions has a reputation for the bizarre and wonderful – producing shows since 2008 which have included full-scale theatre productions, circus / acrobatic events, and cabaret and burlesque shows. As a talented group of individuals (who tend to be as colourful as the characters they play!), they bring together dance, circus arts, acrobatics, aerials, comedy and theatricality.

In the 2013 Auckland Fringe Festival they triumphed over evil in a young girl’s nightmares and in 2014 they explored a dystopian future full of machines and uniformity. This Fringe they are back at the Rose Centre with their sixth annual production, Life in the Toybox, inviting you to join them in a world of creativity and colour where the line blurs between who is playing with whom in this circus we call life.

Our large, multi-talented, cast will bring you an assortment of acrobatic animals, dancing dolls, aerial figurines and more, and, as always, invite you to step into our world and feel part of the story (and maybe even part of our quirky community!). You are welcome you to come along, bring your humour, your friends and costume! Arrive early for pre-show fun and games, stay late to celebrate, but please, “play nice”!
