Production Details
“Metamorphosis” is a multi-disciplinary, site-specific, fire-theatre performance created around the concept of constant change.
Performed in the Atheneum Basement, enter via the alleyway opposite First Church on Moray Place, the performances draws ideas and themes from key inspirational texts, such as: Ovid’s “Metamorphoses”, Kafka’s “The Metamorphosis”, “Alice in Wonderland”, and the Norse Creation myth.
The aim is to immerse the audience in a collective stream-of-consciousness, using dance, aerial silks, original live music, fire manipulation, masks and narrative, and to explore many kinds of transformation: human -> animal, technological -> organic, guilt -> innocence, good -> evil, etc.
