THE BUSKERS ARE BACK! FOR THE 20^TH TIME! 

We can’t believe it either! But, yep, we’re turning 20 and to celebrate we’ve got a festival that ticks every box and every funny bone.

A spectacular line up of international acts featuring a selection of ‘old school’ and ‘new school’ street performers and a few indoor shows that will ensure our 20th is one festival no one should miss. Expect the usual (and the unusual) fun, laughs galore and a whole lot of nonsense – everything the SCIRT WORLD BUSKERS FESTIVAL is known for.

Thirty street acts from nine countries join our programme of indoor and outdoor theatre style shows including the SCIRT BUSKER COMEDY CLUB (R16), MOVING STATIONERY (All Ages), GAMARJOBAT (R16), SAMMY J & RANDY (R16), LE GATEAU CHOCOLAT (R16), Hirepool NOTHING BUT STAND UP (R18), iSite LATE NIGHT WITH THE BUSKERS (R18), GOLDEN GOOSE (R16), THE CARD NINJA (R20),Christchurch Casino’s BIRTHDAY BOY CABARET (R20) and our very popular BUSKERS BURLESQUE (R18).

We also have a fantastic line up of events both in and outside BUSKER PARK including the L&P STAGE, the Jeff Gray MINI Countryman STAGE, CPIT AERIAL STAGE featuring Fuse Circus, LE TIGRE BLEU, as well as like the MUSIC PITCH and STREET PITCH in Re:Start, City Mall, Tip Top BUSKER KID PITCH in the Botanics, Ryan Security BUSKERS AT BRIGHTON and a very special dance party – HOT DUB TIME MACHINE (R18). One of the hottest shows on the international festival circuit HOT DUB is here for three nights only – brought to you by Cassels & Sons. 

The SCIRT World Buskers Festival has grown up. Not only are we the largest outdoor festival in New Zealand, we’re one of the biggest and most successful street performance festivals in the world. Perhaps it’s the juggling, the magic, or the non- stop funny. We’re not really sure, but what we are sure of is that we love creating this festival just as much as Christchurch loves having it.
