COVID-19 Lockdown Festival 2020

Production Details

Bill Napier, NZ’s finest park ranger is in lockdown with Jason Chaseman and his nemesis, Aussie ranger Ron Bradman. Taking a break from all the park work they create a TV show to inform and entertain, The Alone Rangers.

In the first episode (which premiered 10 April 2020) they look at what sports they can still play, post lockdown, and Ron entertains with a song.

Episode two: (premiered 17 April 2020)
The rangers are still alone in the park after three weeks of lockdown. Bill challenges Ron and Jason to a game of “What Tree Am I?”

ANZAC Special: Bill and Ron call a truce for ANZAC Day as the rangers commemorate the ANZACs.

In Gallipoli, Australian and New Zealand soldiers fought alongside each other, later coined the ANZACs (Australia New Zealand Army Corps). They went on to fight together in many campaigns since. On the 25th of April every year we remember those who fought for a better world. To commemorate those who have fallen we attend dawn services and wear poppy flowers. The poppy’s signify the poppy’s in Flanders Fields on the Western Front. This year, because of COVID 19, people are being encouraged to stand in their driveway at 6am to show respect. #standatdawn

In this episode the boys bake ANZAC biscuits. These biscuits were baked in Australia and NZ and posted to the front in Europe. The legend says they were sent to the front, but in fact they were baked for bake sales.

Episode four (premiered 1 May 2020)
