NZ International Comedy Festival 2010

Production Details

Compatriots! The time is upon us! This is the call to comedic arms! The 2010 Cadbury Crunchie Comedy Gala is the night to launch a thousand laughs as the revolution begins in Auckland City, at the ASB Theatre on Friday 23 April.
A rib-tickling regime of international and local hilarity, the Cadbury Crunchie Comedy Gala has sold out for the last four years. Showcasing the very best acts performing at the 2010 NZ International Comedy Festival, the Gala unites over 20 acts on one stage.
The NZ Comedy Trust has staged a coup and commandeered the hosting services of the ever- charismatic Rove McManus, Logie winner and star of the hilarious TV3 talk show ‘ROVE’. An inspiring leader in the comedy revolution, his cohorts on stage will include:
Jimeoin (AUS), whose last performance at the 2008 Cadbury Crunchie Comedy Gala brought the house down with the mere flinches of his eyebrows, alongside the intricacies of washing machines.
– Heath Franklin’s Chopper (AUS), returns to New Zealand to see “how the f**king hell” we are, offering up his words of wisdom and informing us why we should “Make Deadshits History”.
– From Cripple Creek, Colorado’s very own Wilson Dixon (USA) returns with his laconic country songs and always-deadpan delivery.
– And some of NZ’s finest comedians also come out and play, with TV3’s Jeremy Corbett, Ben Hurley and Dai Henwood taking a break from their radio and television outings to enlighten fellow Kiwis, whilst Ewen Gilmour helps citizens understand Auckland’s new super city…
The comedy revolution will be televised in April on TV3 – our new television partner for the 2010 NZ International Comedy Festival.
The Cadbury Crunchie Comedy Gala is the place to be when the comedy uprising launches its revolutionary campaign across the country. 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 have all been sell-out successes so rush in or miss out!
