TOM ATTEMPTS HIS ESCAPE FROM COUNTDOWN – THE MEAT IN THE CHILLER IS RESURRECTING AND THE VEGGIES WANT HIM DEAD
Next month sees the return of not only the Auckland Fringe Festival, but also one of Auckland’s most loved productions from 2015. The well acclaimed season of The Last Man on Earth is Trapped in a Supermarket has been redrafted for a 2017 audience and will be a crowd favourite of FRINGE.

Tom is your regular loser – even when the apocalypse comes around, he’s not invited. Join in the delirium as Tom attempts his escape from Countdown. Best he move quickly though – the veggies want him dead.

The People who Play with Theatre are Visual Theatre makers who use puppetry, imagery and physicality to tell strong, poignant stories that excite the imagination and act as an interruption to the predictability of everyday life. Our philosophy is to speak to the sickness of the world
through theatre that is all at once beautiful, funny, sad, and true .

Following the success of PUZZLE (2015) and Just Above The Clouds(2014), The People who Play with Theatre Creator, Writer, Director and Puppeteer Ben Anderson spent 2016 training at the John Bolton Theatre School in Melbourne and returns with various techniques to introduce to Auckland audiences in the resurrected supermarket apocalypse puppet-thriller.
