STORIES on FAITH, REVELATION, ROCK BOTTOM & REDEMPTION

Seeing as some of us may ascend whilst others may perish in 2012 we thought a reverential round of stories was in order.  This series of TSOL we bring you stories on The Apocalypse as told by some of this country’s finest comedians, foreign comedians, regular people and semi famous folk.

Running over four Saturdays we’re offering you the chance to hear stories on Faith (April 28th), Revelation (May 5th), hitting Rock Bottom (May 12th) and finding Redemption (May 19th). Each story is no longer than 10 minutes, told without a script or props of any kind and it has to be (sort of) true.

They can be funny, moving, inspiring, humanizing, devious and strange, but they are always worth hearing.

These are awesome. Simple and moving, what storytelling should be.”
Sam Snedden – co-producer of Basement Fest

True Stories Out Loud was inspired by international story telling events such as the moth.org.

We’ve been running events in Auckland over the past two years; the inspiration behind the Auckland Writers and Readers Festival opening night 2011 we also ran a series of stories on Family, Rebellion and Love at the Basement Fest 2011 with, among others, Michael Hurst, Jacinda Ardern, Morgana O’Reilly and Jesse Mulligan.

“Amazing to be in the presence of people remembering, shaping stories in the moment. Funny, awkward, moving, beautiful…” Emily Perkins

As part of the NZ International Comedy Festival 2012
