Writer: Rowan O'Keefe

This play starts in the common area of a hostel in Thailand. A hostel so horrible they named it HostHell, with a check-out time that no one seems to know. Someone shouts “There’s a snake in dorm A,” and the rest unfolds. There are apparently lizards, big ones, and what starts as an innocent drunken night around the hammocks turns into a murder mystery with a slice of American Pie…

Rowan O’Keeffe is a writer, actor and musician. Having travelled the world with such vocations, this will be Rowan’s third play to see the stage thanks to a Bachelor of Creative Writing at the University of Naarm, a year of study at The Actors Program in Tāmaki Makaurau and a long blood line of musicians, poets and story tellers from Port Lairge, Éireann.

Rowan started writing in a big book he purchased from a $2 store. There were lots of ideas on the page, and some of them made it into the script writing software 4 years later. The script was then circulated and rewritten and will have had 2 readings before its first public outing.
