Merrin Cavel returns to BATS theatre after a sell-out fringe season with a very personal, celebratory story of motion and how and why we move.

Why I Move, at BATS theatre 9-13 September as part of the Dance Your Socks Off Festival, is devised by Merrin Cavel, a dancer who rediscovered movement over a number of years following being hit by a car and told she would never walk again. Merrin and her dance companion Larissa exami ne why and how they move in a compelling and moving exploration of every person’s passion for movement.

chilliandlime productions was formed in Christchurch in 2006 to create more opportunities for new female artists. Their most recent production was the sellout season of Merrin Cavel’s Bent Not Broken at the 2008 Wellington Fringe Festival, followed by a successful national tour.
