Production Details

Award winning performer Sabrina D’Angelo presents Zen the Pigeon Girl, a seriously silly new action-adventure show for kids 4+. Zen is on a quest to find her lost mum, and must journey through mystical lands and meet wacky and wonderful creatures along the way.

She’s half-pigeon, half-human. Zen has arms instead of wings. She can’t fly, but she can do other cool stuff like play the sitar, and do tricks with her marshmallow nunchucks. Zen is on an important mission: to find her lost mum! She must journey up high, into the sea in the sky – kingdom of the cosmic octopus. But how will she get there without wings? Join Zen as she travels through lands of songful soup caves and farting sunflowers, meeting scaredy goats and bummy worms along the way.

Told through physical comedy, puppetry and song, this is a wildly funny and heart-felt story of bravery, hope and embracing your own oddness.

Sabrina D’Angelo has been making waves with her unique brand of physical comedy, a kaleidoscopic mash-up of clown, interpretive dance and puppetry, described as ‘Kate Bush meets Mr. Bean.’ Her most recent show Why Do I Dream? was a smash hit, earning her the Best Comedy award and a nomination for Stand Out Performer at the NZ Fringe Festival 2014, and a ‘must see’ in The Age’s Critic’s Picks for MICF 2014.

Sabrina is a Sydney based performer, puppeteer and comedian, who also works as a Clown Doctor in children’s hospitals.

“Will have you in stitches” The Age

“Bizarrely hilarious… a dazzling array of physical comedy” Crikey

“Her face creates the most amazing expressions, her use of props is ever surprising. She is an everyday object-illusionist” Theatreview (NZ)
