 Patrick Davies is an Actor, award winning Director, Improviser, Lighting Designer and Reviewer, with more than fifty onstage roles, who grew up in Dunedin and has since worked around New Zealand and overseas.

In 2006 he relocated to Wellington to begin his Master of Theatre Arts (Directing) at Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School and Victoria University. He has presented work in Germany and the UK and performed and taught at the INFANT Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia. The following year he returned with more work and teaching adding Romania to the list.

Patrick won national and international acclaim for his portrayal of James K. Baxter in Jerusalem, Jerusalem gaining five star revues at the Edinburgh Festival. In 2008 he directed the highly acclaimed Glorious which subsequently toured to Wellington and Auckland. He teaches Shakespeare Performance and Directing at the National Youth Drama School and from 2012-14 he was a Visiting Artist acting and directing with outdoor theatre company GALSCO in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Patrick has been nominated for Best Director 4 times, winning for Fortune Theatre’s The Pitmen Painters, which along with his feted production of Peninsula, won Production of the Year. Mostly known for comedic roles he has acquitted himself as Hamlet, Oberon, Lysander, Sir Toby Belch, Edgar, Romeo and Leontes. He also captained the New Zealand Improv team when it won NZs first world title in Edmonton, Canada.
